Hi everybody
Well I think this is my first post for July and wow its been a busy time for me too.
Well on the 3rd of July, the event that I have tried to mentally prepare myself for finally happen - my eldest daughter of 20yrs (almost 21) board her airplane for a series of flights until reaching her final destination in England. She will be on a working holiday for the next two years, hoping to also go to France and my father's birth place - Switzerland in that time. It was the longest hours waiting for phone calls and news updates until her final safe arrival, now the fun begins and mum's adaption to the idea! Here is the last glimpse I got of my daughter for awhile. I was okay until I hugged her!
She was seen off by her family and my friend Diana who also came as moral support to this mamma! :)
In true scrapping and theapy style I have scrapped part of this ocassion but there'll be more in the future. I've used the one of the new collections from Piggy Tales- Yankee Doodle Dandy - very nice pp's feature foil designs as well. check out the collection here:- Yankee doodle dandy
On that note here is my last DT instalement of work for TSE using the Making Memories DT collection. here is the bumper issue of 7 layouts :)

I’ve always had a love of photography as young as I could get my hands on a camera, be it borrowed. Even as a young teen, I loved to compose my subjects correctly, yes perhaps not so candid as is the fashion now. So when planning my wedding on a strict budget almost 24yrs ago I thought I’d made a good but still economical choice with our photographer- a semi professional (whose work I’d seen prior) paying $150 for 3 rolls of filmed work.(I know $150 doesn’t seem much now all these years later but it was about ½ the price you paid for fully fledged professional.
As with those who have gone through their day of nuptials will know that a lot happens round about you, lots of it like a blur and so its with great anticipation that we look forward to the images that will cement the memory forever in our minds. After a two week honeymoon I was shocked to come home and find rolls of blown-out, ill positioned photos and a realization that it was an event I couldn’t do a reshoot on and still recapture the day. If it wasn’t for some additional photos taken by my new Sister inlaw Julie I’d would have virtually little to show. So in saying that my wedding photos and the idea of doing an album has always been a disappointment.
That was until last year when I decided it was time to tackle the project with a few principles in mind
If your inspired by the look of these projects check out the following info-
• I’ve refined my photos and uniform them by making them mostly black and White – a classic approach. (because they were aged and blan otherwise and it gives freedom in colour choices.)
• Kept the continuity of the project by working with a basic 3-4 colour scheme – Black, White(or most cases in this album French Vanilla), Teal blues with the occasional introduction of silver, bling and metal product.
• Kept the designs sketch- based, timeless classical look that doesn’t age quite so readily no matter what decade one views this album.
• Also added one’s own style to each layout- for me stitching.
• Don’t feel the need to do your pages in order either and its okay to leave the project for some time and come back to it, this stops subject fatigue!
• Being that I’ve photographed quite a few weddings myself over the last 15+ years I’ve also learnt to have fun with poses and effects later in the software program. Even though these photos are nearly 24yrs old I can still add colour to my black and whites photographs, apply filters and experiment in other ways in a good software program to liven up even the most ordinary photos.
• Note: when scanning negatives or the orginal photos, always save an orginal copy as is before altering its look permnantly.
• Scan or photograph each completed page as you go along so as you have a digital copy of your wedding album as well.

Recycling packaging Why waste the packaging that comes with your product. Yes I know we’re not so hard up that we have to use it, but I find its much too pretty and useful to want to throw it away. The photo backing on this title page comes from a past collection- MM Sophia packaging. Its black with a teal spot- perfect for my colour scheme. Plus I’ve also used the top cover page from the MM I DO journaling pad. The acetate small sheet has a gorgeous swirl design on it much like its 12” sheet cousin. I’ve used it as my overlay on the photograph. The little title tag is once again the backing card from the MM I DO glass sticker packaging. Why not use the leftover acetate sheet that once housed the glass stickers to stamp on a design or word with Staz on ink or punch out a design with your fav dye cut machine. The uses are endless and up to your imagination. Here’s my take on the experiment.
